MISSED LESSONS AND CLASSES

Contact us or cancel your child’s lesson in MyMusicStaff if you anticipate a missed lesson. Subject to availability, we have the following options for make-up lessons: 

• Little Jammers: You are invited to join another class if there is space

• Piano Classes: You are invited to join another class if there are spots available. 

• Private Lessons:  You have 30 days to make up the lost time. After 30 days, the time will be forfeit.

WEATHER POLICIES

The following procedures are in place for when inclement weather occurs throughout the year:

• Winter Weather: We follow Wichita Public Schools to determine our winter weather closures. If we do close: Little Jammers and Piano Class students will be invited to a 35 minute Zoom class at the normally scheduled class; a link will be sent out about 5 minutes before the class for students to log-in. Private Lessons can either be held on zoom, OR be rescheduled within the 30-day window. 

• Severe Weather: Severe weather closures will only happen if Wichita is placed in a Tornado Warning, or similar-strength storm warning. We will text affected families ASAP if we do close for serve weather events. We will reschedule affected lessons/classes within 60 days. 

CALENDAR and SCHEDULE

For upcoming events, a schedule of our classes, visit www.seckmanmusic.com/calendar. Seckman Music School will take up to but not more than 5 weeks off in a calendar year. These will include a Spring Break in March, Summer Break in July, Fall (Thanksgiving Break) in November, and Winter Break in December. Private Lessons may not be effected by these closures if determined otherwise by the teacher and student. 

STOPPING LESSONS

If you decide to discontinue lessons, you must fill out our lesson cancellation form at www.seckmanmusic.com/termination as this is the only form of communion we will accept. This form must be filled out at least 30 days before your planned end date. There are no refunds provided for stopping lessons.

PRICING AND FEES

As of 2025, our classes are priced as follows:

• Little Jammers: $100/month per student

• PianoPLAY: $100/month per student

• Private Lessons: $125/month. Please contact us directly for availability. 

As of 2025, these fees are instituted for lessons and classes at Seckman Music School:

• Annual Enrollment Form: $25/year for single students, $48/year for families with multiple students.

  • This is to help cover printing and material costs as we supply books and music for the kids. The rate is prorated for students who join throughout the year.

• Late Payment Fee: $50 per late invoice

• Re-Enrollment Fee: Students who take two or more months off from lessons are subject to pay a deposit of half of 1 month's price to secure their spot for when they return.

INVOICES AND PAYMENT

Invoices are posted to your account 1 week before the first of the month and processed on the first of each month. Payments can be processed on a different day if you let us know. If you wish to pay via ACH transfer rather than Credit/Debit Card, we will help you get that set up. We can also accept cash, checks (made out to Seckman Music School), and Venmo with the QR code in the school or our username, @SeckmanMusic. 

A $50 late fee is charged to the account for payments made after the 7th of the month. If we fail to post your invoice to your account 1 week before the first of the month, the due date will be moved to the 14th of the month.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

We are willing to work with families who may not be able to afford the full price of our classes and lessons. Please contact us directly if you are needing assistance. Options available are lowering class costs, payment plans, or finding outside grants/scholarships to help cover costs. Families on financial assistance will have the following fees reduced by half: Annual Enrollment Fee and Re-Enrollment Fee. (Late Payment Fee will not count for financial assistance). 

STUDENT REFERRAL BONUS

Current students who refer new students to our classes and programs will receive a thank-you gift from us in the form of a gift card to certain restaurants and retailers. Students will receive this gift card after the referred student stays with us for more than one-months' time. 

CONCERT AND PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

We put on two main concerts per calendar year held on the third Saturday of January and July, hosted at various locations around the Wichita area. Participation in these concerts are completely optional by our students. Students will be invited to sign up to participate about 6 weeks before the concert. Times and locations will be determined no later than 8 weeks before the concert date. There is no dress code for these concerts as we want to make the performance experience as comfortable for the student as possible. 

UPDATES AND CHANGES

Seckman Music School may make changes and updates to these policies at any time, but we will provide you with at least 30 days notice before these changes go into effect.
