PSST! SUMMER CAMPS COMING SOON!
We have made the difficult decision to discontinue our homeschool general music classes. While there were several reasons for this decision, we felt it is our best interest to pull the classes from our offerings.
If you were planning to continue and have not yet reached out to us, we do have some alternatives for your consideration:
1) We are offering general music classes online through OutSchool on Monday afternoons and Tuesday Mornings: https://outschool.com/teachers/seckmanmusicstudio?signup=true&usid=pdYZjalK&utm_campaign=share_invite_link
2) Little Jammers Rockband for ages 4-7: We have Tuesday Afternoon/Evening and a Wednesday Morning time available as well.
3) Piano Classes for ages 7-12: We have Monday and Tuesday afternoons and a Wednesday morning time available.
4) Private Lessons for ages 12+: We have some openings throughout the week for 30 minutes private lessons on a variety of instruments.
5) Friday Morning Classes/Field Trips (See below): We are in the process of putting together a variety of 1-time Field Trip options for Homeschool Groups, and 4 to 5-week instrument classes which will meet on Friday Mornings.
(This information is in the process of being updated. For current Field Trip information, please contact us directly).
In addition to our on-going general music classes, we can also host a field trip at our school, or come to you! Our feild trips can last anywhere from 1-2 hours depending on availability, group size, and age range. We currently have the following as options for Field Trips:
Piano Lab (Ages 5 to 18)
In the Piano Lab, we teach beginner concepts and allow time for students to play a handful of songs, compose their own songs, and play a piano-related game at the end of class. With the material of the class, we can host a wide age-range of students.
Ukulele (Ages 7 to 18)
For Ukuleles, we go over beginner concepts and allow time for student to play a handful of well-known songs, work on picking and writing their own tunes, and play a music-related game at the end of class. With the material of the class, we can start around age 7 and up.
Guitar (Ages 7 to 18)
For Guitars, we go over beginner concepts and allow time for students to play a handful of well-known songs, work on picking and writing their own tunes, and play a music-related game at the end of class. With the material of the class, we can start around age 7 and up.
Little Jammers Rock Band (Ages 4-10)
This is like a preview of our on-going Little Jammers class which focuses on Guitar, Drums, Piano, singing and Songwriting. During the class, students will play a variety of instruments in a group with a rock band feel and we will also play music-related games and have some worksheets involved with the class as well!
Rock Band (Ages 11-18)
Rock Band is much like Little Jammers, but with big kid instruments! With Rock Band, we work with students on Guitar, Bass Guitar, Keyboard, and Drums, learn a couple familiar songs, and work on writing our own tune! With the material of this class, we focus on students who are close to their teen years and up.
Pricing for Homeschool Music Field trips starts at $5 per child and can vary depending on the class and how many students are in attendance. To start a quote, contact us directly and we'll work with you and your organization.
Below are some answers to questions we often receive for our Homeschool Classes:
Our classes are charged monthly and we do offer a sibling/multi-student rate as well. Those are:
$36 per month for 1 student
$30 per month for siblings.
There is also a one-time $10 registration fee per student, or $25 for families with 3 or more students.
You will be invoiced one week prior to the following month. You can pay by ACH transfer, debit/credit card, cash, check, or Venmo.
For the most part, we will supply everything the kids will need for the classes! The only exception to this is when our Late Elementary class gets into Recorders, students will need one of their own. For this, we can supply the recorder for an extra charge, or you can supply your own.
In terms of our other instrument units such as Ukulele and Guitar, we will supply those instruments, or students are welcome to bring their own. For the Piano unit, we will hold class in our Piano lab.
If you find you have to miss a week or a certain day, just let us know and depending on space, your child(ren) can join a different day of class for that week.
If you find a time that we offer that works for you, we'd invite you in to try a class before enrollment! Just contact us and let us know when you'd like to come in and we'll add you to the list and get you ready to come in!
