PianoPLAY
So you're wanting to get your elementary or young middle-schooler into piano lessons, but you're not sure if it's something they'll commit to or heck, of even like! This is where PianoPLAY classes come in, heavy emphasis on the PLAY!
In PianoPLAY, we make sure that everything is done IN class, so kids don't have to work on anything outside of class and have more family time at home. Because of this, classes are divided into three different sections:
20 minute keyboard lab time: Our instructors don't just sit with our students hovering over the like a hawk. We give them the space and freedom to go through their books at their own pace, and help students as needed. Students are in charge of their pacing, and the instructors guide them along the way.
20 minute music theory time (called Mission Time): We set this time aside for students to work on essential skills such as scales, chords, rhythm, and ear training. Students work on these skills in class so they can receive help as needed! This also plays into our next section...
20 minute game and activity time: this is where the PLAY comes in! Each week, we select an activity that matches the essential skil from Mission Time to focus on for students to work on and this is reinforced through play! These activities may include music-themed games, quizzes, ensemble playing, and more!
PianoPLAY is currently available for piano students ages 7-18.
Classes meet for 1 hour per week at $102 per student. Financial assistance is available. (Price increases to $122 April 2024)
